What months can we put
brush out without having
to bundle it?
November
and March are the only
two months that the
brush will be picked up
unbundled. The
rest of the time it must
be bundled and tied in 4
feet bundles weighing no
more than 50 pounds.
What holidays affect my
collection?
The
only two holidays
affecting trash and
recycling collection are
Thanksgiving Day and
Christmas Day. If
your service is on these
days, service will be on
the day following the
holiday and all service
days following the
holiday (for that week
only) will move to the
next day.
Why is my sewer rate so
high?
We
take the months of
December, January and
February (these are the
typically lowest
consumptions months of
the year) to set your
sewer average for the
year. The new rate goes
into effect on the first
of April. The rate
may change if you use
less water than your
sewer average, but you
will never be charged
for more than what your
sewer average is.
Why is my water bill so
high?
The
best way to tell how
much water you are using
is to do the following:
-
Make
sure everything in
the residence is off and
no water should be
running anywhere.
Go out to the meter and
get a reading. If
the meter is spinning,
water is running
somewhere. If it
is not running, get the
reading and do this at
the same time everyday
for a week or two.
This will show you how
you are using water.
-
The
way to check your
toilets is to put
something that colors
the water in the tank
and let it sit for an
hour or two. If
there is any color in
the bowl when you go
back and check, it means
your toilet is leaking.
