All Watauga residents receive once a week trash and recycling service on the same day.  See the Service Map for your designated service day.  Click here to view collection guidelines.

When is my bulk & brush pickup?

All Watauga residents will receive once a month bulk and brush pickup.  See Service Map for your designated service day.

What months can we put brush out without having to bundle it?

November and March are the only two months that the brush will be picked up unbundled.  The rest of the time it must be bundled and tied in 4 feet bundles weighing no more than 50 pounds.

What holidays affect my collection?

The only two holidays affecting trash and recycling collection are Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.  If your service is on these days, service will be on the day following the holiday and all service days following the holiday (for that week only) will move to the next day.

Why is my sewer rate so high?

We take the months of December, January and February (these are the typically lowest consumptions months of the year) to set your sewer average for the year. The new rate goes into effect on the first of April.  The rate may change if you use less water than your sewer average, but you will never be charged for more than what your sewer average is.

Why is my water bill so high?

The best way to tell how much water you are using is to do the following:

  1. Make sure everything in the residence is off and no water should be running anywhere.  Go out to the meter and get a reading.  If the meter is spinning, water is running somewhere.  If it is not running, get the reading and do this at the same time everyday for a week or two.  This will show you how you are using water.

  2. The way to check your toilets is to put something that colors the water in the tank and let it sit for an hour or two.  If there is any color in the bowl when you go back and check, it means your toilet is leaking.

How do I setup for new water service?

You can download the utility application here and fax the completed form to us at (817) 514-5895.  Please make sure to include your credit card number on the application so that we may process it for the deposit.  If you do not have access to the Internet, please call us at (817) 514-5820, Option 1 and we can fax the application to you.  You can also come into our office located at 7105 Whitley Road and complete the application in person.  We require one (1) business day in order to turn your water on.  The office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The deposit amounts for the owner is $100.00 and $160.00 for the renter/leaser.

When do I get my deposit back?

It can be requested after two years with a good pay history (no late payments), or when you move, the deposit will be applied to your final bill and you will either receive a check or a final bill.

How do I get an extra trash cart?

You need to call Community Waste Disposal's Customer Service Department at (817) 795-9300, Option 2 and request an extra cart or if you need one removed or replaced due to broken wheels or broken lid.  There will be a fee in the amount of $2.18 per month, per cart for extra carts.
