How do I apply
for employment with the City of Watauga?
A listing of employment opportunities can be accessed from the Human Resource
home page. To
apply for any position, just send an e-mail to the
Human Resources Department
requesting an application be mailed to you, or drop by City
Hall and request an application. Employment Applications can also be printed
by
clicking here.

Do I have to
take any tests to qualify for a job?
Some positions such as
Police Officer,
Firefighter/Paramedic
and clerical positions
will require tests. The
job postings will list
specific tests, dates
and times.
Do I have to
take a drug test to become an employee of the City of Watauga?
Yes, the City of Watauga
requires a
pre-employment
drug-screening test to
be successfully passed
prior to any job offer
being final. Medical
evaluations and criminal
history checks are also
conducted for all
positions.
How long does my
application stay on file?
Applications stay on
file until the
position you applied
for is closed. The
Police Department and
Fire Department
applications are good
for one (1) year unless
exhausted earlier.
May I apply for
several positions at once?
You may apply for as many positions as you feel you are qualified for. You must complete a separate application
for each position.
Who may I
contact to ask about the status of my job application?
Due to the large volume of applications, telephone calls, and the time required
to review each application, you will only be contacted if you are selected for
an interview.

The City of Watauga
offers benefits to all
full-time employees and
a limited number of
benefits are available
to part-time employees.

for temporary

Where is the
Human Resources Department located?
The Human Resources Department is located in City Hall at 7105 Whitley Road.
It is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.
