Mayor Harry Jeffries has an Associates Degree from Nassau Community College and numerous Certificates of Achievement from the Texas Municipal League.  He was an employee of American Airlines from April 1967 - April 2003.  Mayor Jeffries has been a resident of Watauga since July 1981.  He was a member of the Parks and Recreation Board from September 1983 – December 1988 and served as Co-Chairman and Chairman.  He was a Charter Member of the Park Development Corporation from July 1994 – October 1998 and has been a Charter Member of the Crime Control and Prevention District since 1992, serving as Secretary and President.  Mayor Jeffries is a Charter Member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.  He has served as President of Region VIII of the Texas Municipal League, and on the Board of Directors of the Texas Municipal League representing the cities in Region VIII.  He served as President of the Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners (AMCC) from February 2005 – February 2006.  Mayor Jeffries is also the 2008 Excalibur Award Winner presented by the Northeast Chamber of Commerce for his leadership in representing the City of Watauga.
