Member Place 1, Ernie Koontz

Ernie Koontz
Ernie Koontz was elected to the Watauga City Council in August 2003. He
retired from the Watauga Department of Public Safety after 18 years of
service. During his tenure as a Watauga DPS officer, he was named
“Officer of the Year” twice. Ernie is also retired from the United
States Air Force where he specialized as a member of the Security Police
Squadron. He is the Past President of the Texas Chapter 1 of the Blue
Knights (a police officer motorcycle club) and is also an active member
of the Security Police Association. Before he was elected to the City
Council, Ernie served as court bailiff for the City’s Municipal Court.
He and his wife have resided in Watauga for over 25 years.

Brandon Krausse

Brandon Krausse
Brandon Krausse was elected to Place 2 on the Watauga City Council in
May 2009. Prior to his election, he served as a member of the Parks
Development Corporation and the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
He completed his Bachelors degree in Organizational Communications from
UT-Arlington in May of 2006, and his Masters degree in Public
Administration in May of 2009. While at UTA, Brandon was elected a
Student Congress Senator and served as the Academic Affairs, Community
Affairs and Student Affairs committee Chair, as well as Chair of Chairs
for the student body. He was honored by the University's Presidents
Office as an Outstanding Student Leader in 2002, and was named the UTA
Homecoming King in 2003. As a graduate student, Brandon worked in both
the Fort Worth Mayor's office and State Representative Diane Patrick's
office in Arlington for the 81st Legislative Session. Brandon has
lived in Watauga with his wife Jessica since 2008 and they are expecting
their first child in December.
"The City of Watauga has a very rich history and
diverse population that makes it a unique and special place to live,
work and raise a family. Our economy is in a very troubled place in our
nation's history, and the City of Watauga is continuing to press on
while many cities around us struggle. This can be attributed to the
strong character and determination of our citizens, and tireless
devotion of our City officials who work to ensure a stable local economy
for the residents and businesses of Watauga. I am honored to serve
you on the Watauga City Council. I look forward to your concerns and

Mayor Pro Tem Mike Steele has served on the City Council since
2004, and has lived in Watauga since
1999. Mike envisions a safe,
clean, and prosperous city.

Mark Hutchinson
Mark
Hutchinson was elected to Place 4 of the City Council in May 2009.
He has been a resident of Watauga since April 1997. He has studied at the University
of Kansas from 1981-1984 with a concentration in biology and physical
education. Mr. Hutchinson has worked in the computer industry for more
than 20 years, and is currently employed with Voyager Hospicecare, Inc.
as a System Administrator. He has been married to his wife Tammy
since 1988 and they share four children ranging in age from 7 to 20.

Councilman Griffin was elected to Place 5 of the
City Council in May 1992.
He served in this capacity until May 1998.
He was re-elected to Place 6 of the City Council in June
2001.

Jerry Adams

Jerry
Adams Jerry Adams is a retired USAF master sergeant (aircraft
maintenance) and an emeritus professor (aviation maintenance technology)
at Tarrant County College. Having no opposition in his candidacy
for election to the Watauga City Council in the 2000 municipal
elections, Mr. Adams was declared duly elected to this office on April
24, 2000. He was re-elected to this office in a run-off election
on June 7, 2003.
In May 2006, Mr. Adams again had no opponent in his bid for re-election
and was declared duly re-elected to a third consecutive term in Place 7.
He was re-elected to a two-year term in
Place 7 on May 10, 2008.
Mr. Adams has, for many
years, been an active participant in Watauga's City government, both as a private citizen and as a
city official.
Mr. Adams is a native of Alabama,
but has been a resident of Watauga since 1969. He is married and
has three children, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Adams considers himself fortunate to have the privilege of serving
the citizens of Watauga as a member of the City Council.
