Environmental Collection Center

The City of Watauga partners with the City of Fort Worth's Environmental Collection Center to provide residents with a safe means of disposing hazardous materials.  In order for a Watauga resident to use the Environmental Collection Center, they must:

  • Pickup a voucher for the center at City Hall for each participating household.

  • Only one voucher will be given per household per fiscal year.  Vouchers are dispensed on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a limited amount available.

  • Bring liquid sorted by type (i.e., oil-based and lead-based).

  • Keep chemicals in their original container.  Place broken or leaking materials in a second container or like material such as glass for corrosives, metal for flammables, etc.

  • If a container has no label and its contents are known, please place a label on the container clearly stating its contents.

  • Do not transport chemicals in the passenger compartment of your vehicle.  Put them in the trunk or bed of truck.

Help Yourself Shelf

The Environmental Collection Center sets aside household products in good condition and places them on its "Help Yourself Shelf".  Citizens may take home any of these cleansers, paints and automotive products at no charge.  Supplies vary weekly.
