 The Watauga
Fire Department has implemented the CodeRed™
Emergency Telephone Notification System. This system is a
high-speed telephone system that is capable of making 60,000
calls per hour. The Emergency Telephone Notification System
will be used for emergencies such as hostage situations,
bomb threats, local Amber Alerts, criminal activity in
neighborhoods, and severe weather warnings 24 hours per day.
A pre-recorded message
with information and instructions will be forwarded to your
regular telephone during an emergency. Each citizen in the
City of Watauga can be called about a warning within two
minutes. If someone does not answer the call immediately,
three more attempts will follow to give the best effort to
notify residents. At the conclusion of an emergency or
warning, another pre-recorded message will follow advising
that the situation has been resolved.
Participation in this system is automatic for
all regular and non-published telephone numbers within the
City of Watauga. Cell phone numbers are not included. If
you choose NOT TO BE NOTIFIED, complete the printable form
here
and return it to the Fire Marshal/Emergency
Management Coordinator, 7101 Whitley Road, Watauga, Texas
76148. The form must be signed in order to be valid. Once
the form is received, all numbers listed will be removed
from the system. For more information about this program,
please call (817) 514-5880.
