Subscription Databases
Watauga Public Library has purchased the following databases for your use. They are available to you from the Library and, in some cases, from anywhere you access the Internet. Those databases that are available only from the Library are marked (In-library use only) below. If you need assistance in using any of these databases, please consult a Librarian at the Reference Desk, or call 817.514.5865.

Ancestry.com (In-Library use only)
Ancestry.com includes census information from 1790 to 1930, birth, marriage & death records, U.S. military records and the U.S. census collection. It also includes New York and San Francisco passenger lists, naturalization records, and ship photos. Available on the desktop at computers in the library.

A to Z the USA
People relocating to another part of the country, students working on research for reports, and students of U.S. history will all find what they need within this site.

A to Z World Travel
AtoZ World Travel, a comprehensive, informative, and fun e-content travel database offering free and exclusive tourist and culture information on more than 160 of the top travel destinations in North America and round the globe.

Atomic Training
Atomic Training contains short videos explaining specific tasks in many of the most popular software applications in use today. The videos may be watched in sequence like a course, or watched individually to learn a specific part of a program. 


English Language Learner (ELL)
This multi-purpose information resource is designed for middle/high school students and those who are new to the English language.  ELL Reference Center will help users succeed academically and in everyday life by providing assistance as they conduct research, build their background knowledge and develop study skills.

eSequels
eSequels is a reader's guide to novels in series. Indexes by character, location, and subject as well as author and title so you  can identify the next title in a series.

Issues & Controversies
In depth coverage of more than 600 hot topics; includes newspaper editorials, biographies, news updates, relevant Web sites, bibliographies, chronologies, maps, graphs, tables, photos, and a directory of organizations to contact for further information. Obtain a user name and password from the Reference Desk by showing your Watauga Public Library card, or call 817.514.5865.

JOBview (In-library use only)
Search for job openings in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, other cities in Texas, or even nationwide! Jobs available in a range of fields. Apply for jobs directly online, or print, email, or text message job description info. Patrons may use JOBview on the library computers only The JOBview icon is on the desktop of all public computers.

Learning Express Library

Provides access to over 350 practice tests including SAT, GED, ASVAB, TAKS, AP and U.S. Citizenship. It also includes practice tests for civil service and vocational career certification. Your Watauga Public Library card is your passport to this interactive test preparation and practice resource at home, or use it at the library.
 

Magill's Medical Guide/Salem Health 
Magill's Medical Guide, published by Salem Health, is a medical reference covering topics such as diseases and human physiology. Watauga Public Library cardholders have access to in the Library and at home, in addition to print versions available in the Reference section of the Library. To use at home, select the "Remote Access Login" tab, then enter the first five digits of your Watauga Public Library card.

Mango Languages 
Mango is an online language learning system that teaches real conversation skills for practical communication. Twenty-two languages plus English are available. All you need is your Watauga Public Library card to register and use this program at home, the Library, or wherever you access the Internet.

OneClickDigital
Welcome to OneClickdigital, a Recorded Books audiobook download service being offered to Watauga Library users. 

OverDrive
North Texas Libraries On-The-Go provides access to downloadable audiobooks and ebooks from OverDrive.

Tumblereadables 
This is an online collection of read-along titles for elementary, middle school, and high school students which features adjustable online text and complete audio narration. Sentences are highlighted as they are being read and the pages turn automatically. The collection features chapter books, early readers, YA/Teen Novels, high interest/low level books for both middle school and high school students, plus classics of American and English literature.

Tutor.com
Tutor.com provides live online help for all age students needing assistance with homework. When the tutors are not available, students have access to their resource library. This program also provides career and resume help. Get an app for your iphone or ipod to be able to connect anywhere. For more information, call the Reference desk at 817.514.5865.


TexShare Databases 

TexShare Databases provide access to a variety of subscription databases, from newspapers and journals to business and literature. The commercial databases licensed by TexShare offer authoritative, full-text articles from verifiable, subscription-only sources. Every search yields results you won't see anywhere else. The TexShare Databases are programs of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Your Library card from Watauga Public Library will allow you to use these resources, free of charge. If you have a valid library card, you will be given a login and password at the Reference Desk. Call 817.514.5865 if you have any questions.
