Reference and Adult Services


The staff of the Adult Services Department of the Watauga Public Library is available to assist you with your information, education, and research needs, whether it is locating the right information, guiding you to a book or media, referring you to a useful Web site, or assisting you in using the computers at the Library. Stop by the Reference Desk or call us at (817) 514-5865.

 
Display Case


If you have a special collection, art work or other items you would like to display in the Library display case, please contact the Adult Services Librarian at (817) 514-5863.  All displays are accepted at the discretion of the Library.

Internet and Office Computers


Computers are available at the Library for office applications, including Microsoft Office and the Internet. A networked color printer will allow printing for 10 cents a page. A library card from a MetrOPAC library is required. Availability on all computers is first-come, first-served. Two one-hour sessions per day are allowed, with extensions.  Time will be limited if others are waiting.

Electronic Resources


TexShare Databases provide access to a variety of subscription databases, from newspapers and journals to business and literature. Your library card from any MetrOPAC library will allow you to use these resources, free of charge.  Stop by or call the Reference Desk at 817-514-5865 for the user name and password.
 

Learning Express Library provides access to over 350 practice tests including SAT, GED, ASVAB, TAKS, AP and U.S. Citizenship.  It also includes practice tests for civil service and vocational career certification.  Your Watauga Public Library card is your passport to this interactive test preparation and practice resource.

Library of Texas -- Simultaneously search through multiple Texas library catalogs for books, periodicals, newspapers, CDs, and other items. There may be a non-resident fee to borrow materials from some libraries. If you have a library card from Watauga or another MetrOPAC library, you may obtain a user name and password at the Reference Desk. Call (817) 514-5865.

Interlibrary Loan -- to request a title, subject, or article from libraries throughout Texas and the United States. Ask at the Circulation Desk for an Interlibrary Loan form.
