needed. Volunteers assist students with their homework.

Volunteers receive 18 hours training in the Laubach Way to English
method and are matched with an adult student who wants to learn
English. Student and tutor meet in the Library at a time
agreeable to both. Typical commitment is 1-2 hours a week for
an extended period. There is no need to speak another
language. Student and tutor materials are provided by a
literacy grant from the United Way of Tarrant County.
ESL Instructor
Qualified English as a Second Language instructors are needed to
lead a conversational English class at intermediate level or a
beginner class. Daytime or evening classes can be arranged.
Teachers without the ESL certification are eligible if willing to
attend 18 hours of Laubach Way to English tutoring.

plus. Volunteers will assist the instructor with the class and
be able to substitute in case of his or her absence. The class

program is funded by a literacy grant from the United Way of Tarrant
County.
