Cell Phone Program

Persons 55 years of age or older, persons with disabilities, and persons with other special circumstances can receive a free cellular phone for safety or emergency 911 calls only.  Simply get an application from the Watauga Police Department, fill the application out, and return it for processing.  If approved, a phone, battery and charger are provided free of charge along with care and use instructions. Persons unable to pick up an application or phone can call and make an appointment to have either delivered.  Cellular phones will be distributed based on availability.  Click here for an application.

Donate Your Old Cell Phones

If your cell phone had a functioning battery when you last used it, please drop it off at the Watauga Police Department or City Library.  The phone must be accompanied by a charger.
