When
participants are fifteen (15) years of age or younger, the group and/or
individual will furnish adequate supervision by one or more adults.

Groups
and/or individuals shall be required to adopt a spot for a minimum period of at
least one (1) year. The Beautification Coordinator and the Parks and
Community Services Director will review each spot request.

Groups
and/or individuals shall perform maintenance a minimum of twelve (12)
times per year and such additional times as needed or required by the
Beautification Coordinator and the Parks and Community Services Director.

Maintenance shall include items such as litter pickup, planting and
maintaining flowerbeds, picking of weeds, fertilizing, etc.

The
group shall not subcontract or assign its duties or responsibilities to
any other group, organization, etc.

The
group shall appoint or select a chairperson to serve as a contact for the
group.

The
group and/or individual shall be responsible for supplies to maintain
their spot. The Parks and Community Services Department may have limited
supplies available for your use, only to be checked out on a daily basis.

The
group and/or individual will be responsible for the disposal of any litter
or debris picked up.

Each
group will be responsible for maintaining a first-aid kit and adequate
drinking water while participating in the Adopt-A-Spot Program.

Each
group and/or individual shall be responsible for prohibiting participants
from either possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages and/or illegal
substances while on the adopted section.

The
group and/or individual shall have the option of renewing the agreement at
the end of the year per the approval of the Beautification Coordinator and
the Park and Community Services Director.

The
group and/or individual shall hold the City of Watauga, its staff, agents
and volunteers from all liability during their participation in the
Adopt-A-Spot Program. I understand the City of Watauga is not responsible
for any injury or damage that may occur to myself, my assistants, vehicle,
equipment, supplies, wares and or other personal belongings during my
participation in this program.
