CALL TO ORDER:
Chairperson Russell Fletcher called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.
INVOCATION:
Kyle Gibson gave the invocation.
CITIZEN’S OPEN FORUM:
There was no one present to speak at open forum.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Kyle Gibson made a motion to accept the minutes of August 4, 2009, Deanna Bird seconded the motion, with all members present voting aye.
PUBLIC HEARING:
1. Zoning Board of Adjustment Case No. 10-01: Request for a Variance to Watauga City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 14, Article 14.300, Section 14.304 (2) (B) (ii) (aa) that requires minimum front yard of 20 feet for the placement of buildings, structures and uses on all residential properties. The structure is 4 feet, 7 inches over the building line. The property is located at 6816 Echo Hill Drive also known as Lot 9, Block 1 Echo Hills Addition. The property owner and applicant is Mr. David Ewald.
The Public Hearing opened at 6:06 pm.
David Ewald was present to answer questions from the Board. Mauro Santillan of 6049 Bludridge spoke stating that he did not object. Councilman Jerry Adams read a portion of Article 6, in regards to how the Board must reach its decision.
The Public Hearing closed at 6:30 pm.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Member Kyle Gibson made the motion approve the variance for ZBA Case 10-01. Paul Bradbury seconded the motion with all members present voting aye.
1. Discussion and action on the selection of Officers
A. Vice Chairperson – Chairperson Russell Fletcher nominated Kyle Gibson to Vice Chairperson. Alternate member, Deanna Bird seconded the motion with all members present voting aye.
B. Secretary – Tabled

Paul Bradbury made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Deanna Bird seconded the motion, with all
members present voting aye.
The meeting adjourned at 6:51 p.m.
