Be Aware of Scams During COVID-19 Pandemic
Please be aware of scammers trying to obtain your personal information claiming to be calling regarding your stimulus checks
- As part of the scam, callers suggest that you might qualify for a special COVID-19 government grant and that it's necessary to first verify your identity and process your request. Variations on the scheme involve contacts through text messages, social media posts, and messages.
- Other twists on the scam suggest that you can get more money from the government - or get your stimulus check faster - if you share personal details and pay a small "processing fee."
- The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will deposit your check into the direct deposit account you previously provided on your tax return (or, in the alternative, send you a paper check). The IRS will not call and ask you to verify your payment details. Do not give out your bank account, debit account, or PayPal account information - even if someone claims it's necessary to get your stimulus check. It's a scam. @(Model.BulletStyle == CivicPlus.Entities.Modules.Layout.Enums.BulletStyle.Decimal ? "ol" : "ul")>
Activities
- In addition to the scheduled daily activities, bingo, dominoes, table games, trivia, physical fitness programs, and much more are available.
- From April to September, the 3rd Monday of each month is "Pot Luck Game Night" from 4:00-7:00 PM. All interested seniors are invited for fun, games, and food!
- Meals are provided by Meals of Wheels Monday - Thursday to all patrons of the Senior Adult Center who are 60 years of age and older. Donations are accepted. If you are under the age of 60, you can purchase a meal for $6.00. You must call and reserve a meal before 11:00 a.m. the day before. Fridays are for Fun Food and include a mixture of special meals at the center such as: $3 Breakfast & Brunch, Bring and Share a Dish, and Out to Lunch (at your expense).
