The Watauga Animal Services Center houses approximately 1000 animals per year, some domestic, some wildlife, some healthy and some needing medical treatment.  Staff works very hard to provide a comfortable and safe environment for each animal who enters the Shelter, though we do rely heavily on donated goods and monetary donations to assist in treating ill or injured animals.

The following is a short list of things we use most often:
  • Bedding and Towels
  • Pet Toys
  • Pet Foods (Dry or Canned)
  • Pet Treats
  • “OdoBan” Cleaner
  • Laundry Detergent

  • Newspaper
  • Pet Taxis
  • All monetary donations are used to help animals with special needs.

  • Bed Sheets
  • Pillowcases
  • Pillows
  • Large, Heavy Comforters
  • Shredded Paper

Many families are unable to have a pet but still wish to help place animals in new homes. Oftentimes these families will sponsor an adoption. This is a wonderful way to support your local Animal Shelter and save lives. For more information on how to sponsor a pet adoption please contact the Animal Services Center at 817.656.9614.
