Bring your friends, family and neighbors to Watauga’s 2nd annual, Hometown Christmas Celebration & Tree Lighting Event on Saturday, December 8 at Capp Smith Park. This festive, outdoor event will be sure to entertain all ages with multiple attractions like the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Performances by Local Dance and Choir Groups, Vendors, Food, Inflatables and Bounce Houses! Make sure to bring your camera to capture pictures of Santa’s Grand Arrival on Watauga’s Firetruck! While you’re there, snap your family’s 2018 Holiday Photo inside our Inflatable Snow Globe! Make sure to stick around after dark to enjoy the grand finale with a gorgeous Fireworks Show over the water.

Be sure to catch the Christmas Carolers strolling throughout the park.
Tree Lighting, Santa & Holiday Characters
Holiday characters will be strolling the park throughout the event for pictures & visits. Please bring your own camera/phone to take pictures.
There will be live reindeer to visit and get pictures with.
The tree lighting ceremony will start at 6:30 PM.
Santa will make a Grand Entrance on Watauga's Firetruck.
Free Santa Visits at the North Pole starting approximately at 7:00 PM. Bring your own camera/phone.
The fireworks show will start at approximately 8:15 PM over Capp Smith Lake.
Fireworks will be most visible on the east & south side of the lake, closest to the water.
