The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the City of Watauga the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, as well as a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents significant accomplishments by a government and its management.
Less than 10 percent of cities across the United States receive these awards which are the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, accounting and financial reporting.
