Bring the family out on this summer afternoon to watch this amazing traditional Japanese drum performance with Goisagi. Goisagi is a taiko ensemble performing all-original Japanese drum compositions. Founded in 2013 with two members, they've performed all over the DFW metroplex in venues ranging from libraries to the Deep Ellum ArtsFest. They've also performed on stage at SXSW (South by Southwest) in Austin. Now numbering over 8 members and trainees, the group includes over 20 pieces of equipment, including gongs, cymbals, traditional narimono percussion, and a 36" wide odaiko. Through the MasterWorks Series, Arts Council Northeast and the City of Watauga present free performances on selected evenings throughout the year. The MasterWorks Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists.
