Watauga 101 Citizens Academy Registration Now Open

Applications for residents interested in the Watauga 101 Citizens Academy are now open.  The purpose of the Academy is to provide residents and business owners an opportunity to gain a better understanding of their City’s government and services by providing knowledge and encouraging participation in a diverse setting which is conducive to building community.

The Academy is free of charge for current residents or business owners in Watauga who are 18 years or older, registered to vote, who can commit to attend all sessions and be an engaged participant and who are also not currently a Council Member.

Classes will meet twice per month at predetermined areas throughout the City for approximately three hours.  Classes are scheduled in the evenings starting September 5, 2019 and ending December 9, 2019.

Space is limited.  Participants may only be absent from two sessions, however, the absences must be made up by attending two Council meetings prior to the end of the Academy
