The City of Watauga is accepting applications to fill places 2, 4 and 6 on the Planning and Zoning Commission. Per Section 211.007 of Texas Local Government Code, the governing body of a home-rule municipality shall, and the governing body of a general-law municipality may, appoint a zoning commission. The commission shall make preliminary report and hold public hearings on that report before submitting a final report to the governing body. The Planning and Zoning Commission makes recommendations to City Council to guide land development through the Comprehensive Master Plan and Zoning and Subdivision Regulations. The Commission also makes recommendations to City Council regarding platting or subdividing land within the corporate limits of the City. The Commission meets the third Wednesday of the month as posted at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers at 7105 Whitley Road.
Applications are available at City Hall, 7105 Whitley Road, or on the City of Watauga web site. The position vacancy will be advertised through June 5, 2020. Completed applications must be submitted to the office of the City Secretary by the submittal deadline, June 5, 2020 at 5 p.m., for consideration.
