Message from the Mayor
Happy Spring. Looks like winter is over (knock on wood) and spring is here. Of course, Spring also brings with it those famous storms created by mother nature. Be prepared with an emergency plan.
The annual “State of the City” address was held virtually in March. We are hopeful to return to a “live” event next year. The Address is available to view at cowtx.org and click the video link to view.
The long awaited “soft” reopening of our library is scheduled for April 5, 2021. Check with the library for hours of operations and other restrictions. The Hector F. Garcia Community Center is getting back into the swing of things. With luck both facilities will be back to full operations soon.
Lots of openings on boards for citizens interested in serving the Watauga community. Planning and Zoning, Zoning Board of Adjustments and the newly forming Parks Advisory Board need volunteers. Fill out your application at the Watauga Government page under “I want to”. The application process is fast and easy to complete.
Reminder…. Schools ARE in session. Be mindful of the little ones and STOP for school buses loading and unloading. Ensuring the safety of children is very important.
Lastly, Texas is open. COVID numbers are down, hospitalizations continue to trend downward, and vaccines are available. Citizens are encouraged to get vaccinated. If interested in receiving the vaccine, please visit the Tarrant County website at tarrantcounty.com for locations and times.
Family, friends, and neighbors; is what make Watauga a Great Place to Live.
