On Monday, March 4th beginning at 7:00 p.m., the City of Watauga will host a "Meet Your City" event at the Hector F. Garcia Community Center. This is a great opportunity to learn about the different City Departments, meet the Directors, ask questions and exchange ideas.

It's Daylight Savings Time again! Don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed on Saturday, March 9th! Remember, "Spring Forward/Fall Back".

Are you a golf player? The City will host the Inaugural Hector F. Garcia Golf Tournament on Tuesday, March 12th at Iron Horse Golf Course. Proceeds fund a College Scholarship to be awarded by the Sertoma Club for two of our local High School Seniors! It is not too late to signup

We are also looking forward to seeing you at our Inaugural State of the City Address, which will be held on Wednesday, March 20th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Hector F. Garcia Community Center. RSVP Required, as seating for this event is limited.

Finally, I want to encourage you to continue to shop local. Did you know we have nearly 350 businesses in Watauga listed in our online directory? Shopping local directly impacts the local economy and it is what helps make Watauga a great place to live!

The Watauga Fire Department would like to remind the public that outdoor fire pits are allowed with certain provisions. On commercially manufactured portable fire pits always follow the manufactures directions and they shall not be used within 15 feet of structures or any other combustibles, including fences or out-buildings.

Permanent fire pits are allowed as long as they follow the building Code and are located no closer than 10 feet of a structure or combustible material. These fires must be constantly attended, and a means of extinguishment must be readily available. This could be a water hose, fire extinguisher, bucket of sand, even a shovel. For more information:

Camp Fire Grill Texas Kitchen Receives
City of Watauga Momentum Award

The Northeast Tarrant County Chamber of Commerce announced the recipient of the 2018 City of Watauga Momentum Award at their Annual Awards Banquet on February 7, 2019.  Each year the NET Chamber of Commerce recognizes an exceptional business within the City of Watauga that excels in overall business growth, contributions to the city and community,  and is recognized by their employees as a great place to work.

Kareem Lawton and Pablo Resendez opened Campfire Grill Texas Kitchen in 2015 and within one year began receiving awards such as “Best of Fort Worth” and “Best Hole in the Wall – Fort Worth” by national and local restaurant publications.  The partners created a “Giving Wall” in their restaurant where guests can leave their meal receipts in a variety of charity/donation boxes, of which 10% of their meal’s cost is donated to that charity each month.

The City of Watauga congratulates Camp Fire Grill Texas Kitchen! We are proud to have you in Watauga!

Shop Local

Why local? Multiple studies show if you spend $100 at a local business, roughly $68 stays in your local economy. How does that affect you and the local community? Shopping local increases real estate values and creates more local jobs. It also helps sustain the environment and promotes better health by having businesses within walking or biking distance.

Whether you're out shopping with friends, grabbing a bite to eat, or having fun with the kids, be sure to stay local. Shop, dine, play... live Watauga.
