Message from the Mayor Pro Tem
We had great success with our Inaugural events for the State of the City Address and the Hector F. Garcia Golf Tournament in March. Stay tuned to the website to Stay Informed with important information. Another way to learn more about our community and gain a better understanding of your local City Government is to join the Watauga 101 Citizen's Academy! It is FREE, but space is limited and registration ends on April 30, 2019.
Spring is in full swing and we have a lot fun events for the whole family. Be sure to check the Watauga Public Library Calendar as well as Parks and Recreation Calendar for upcoming Special Events you don't want to miss!

Move More!April is the American Heart Association’s Move More Month! Throughout the month, move more and commit to being physically active. Celebrating Move More Month is fun and easy!
• When you’re bored or frustrated, or just have some time to kill, go for a walk. It’s an excellent way to clear your mind and re-energize.
• Always wanted to learn how to dance, do karate or shoot a bow and arrow? Take lessons or find an online tutorial and teach yourself! It’s never too late to pick up a new skill and get more active.
• When you find yourself waiting somewhere or standing in line, do some micro-movements that won’t be noticed by others, like glute squeezes, abdominal contractions and pelvic floor exercises. Your core will thank you!
To learn more about how you can move more and make it count, visit: heart.org/movemore.
