October 6, 2017, 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM @ Watauga Public Library
Expanding the traditional role of children's services, the Family Place Library builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement, and supportive communities play a critical role in young children's growth and development. We offer a place that is welcoming and appropriate for children, where parents can connect with resources, programs, and services offered at the library and other family service agencies.
The workshop is designed for children 1-3 years and their parents and caregivers. Younger siblings may attend with a registered toddler. The workshops will be very informal, play-based, and child-driven.
A resource professional will be introduced each week. They will speak informally with parents, addressing concerns parents may have about their child's development as it pertains to the resource professional's expertise.
The workshops will be offered twice on that day: 9:00am-10:15am and 11:00am-12:15pm. Registration begins September 11.

Please join the Watauga Public Library and Behavioral Innovations for a modified story time every first and third Friday of the month! This story time will be from 4:30 pm- 5:00 pm in the Young Adult Area. The program provides the chance for children with special needs to enjoy a group story time. Behavioral Innovations will send an ABA Therapist who will bring a book and various sensory items to share with your children during the story. We are excited for this opportunity to read to children in the community at our local library!
